Bio:
Carissa was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Her parents knew she was destined for greatness, and called to the outdoors from a very early age. She started skiing at 3-1/2 years old. By age seven she had a NASTAR poster with her name recognizing her fourth place in the women's division.
"I love the outdoors. It's my life and passion."
Carissa's brother David (www.davidcomp.com ) and father Daniel (www.DanielComp.com) took up snowboarding the year it was invented. Carissa followed as soon as they could get a small enough board. She spend her winters, playing, and eventually working in the Cascade mountains at areas like:
The Summit at Snoqualmie
Mount Baker Ski Resort
White Pass Ski Resort
Crystal Mountain Ski Resort"I love boarder cross, slope style and rail competitions - and I'm working hard on super-pipe. My job is to represent my sponsors and to be a great role model."

When asked "what's your hope for snowboarding?", she responds; "The progression of snowboarding is at a high, yet women need to be represented better. My hopes and dreams for the industry is that women's snowboarding will compete closer to men's snowboarding and yet express the art and grace of dance that women have."
She certainly shows the art and grace - thank you Carissa!
